For couples, partners, families, and individuals.
Relationship therapy can also be known as couples counselling or family therapy and can be undertaken individually too. It’s very flexible and can be tailored to your unique circumstances.
As partners, family members or individuals, you can talk confidentially in a safe space about any of your relationships, whether with each other, with other partners, work colleagues, family, or friends. I will help you unravel issues, start to make sense of them, and help you to express painful feelings.
What issues can I help you with?
I work with a wide range of current problems, such as abuse, anxiety, stress, depression, loneliness, self-esteem, communication, rows and arguments, managing conflict, behaviour, bereavement, parenting disagreements, infidelity, separation, divorce, family struggles and dynamics, the impact of cancer on clients and their loved ones, sexual orientation and many others.
Life transitions such as retirement, redundancy, moving house and menopause can affect relationships too. I also work with past issues and how they may impact on the present for you as the client.
How long are the sessions?
One session is 55 minutes in an hour’s slot. 85-minute sessions for couples, partners and families can be booked in a 90-minute slot by prior arrangement.
Your safety
Domestic violence and abuse is an issue for many clients who present for therapy. I know from my experience that in this situation, working with both partners in the same session may not be safe or appropriate. In this case, I may offer individual sessions to each partner to assess the risk of continuing the therapy.
If something comes up in our sessions where I feel there is a need to refer you on to a more specialist service, I will discuss this with you.
HOW TO BOOK
Contact me for your free short introductory call via Zoom or telephone. During this session we can talk briefly about your issues, you can get a feeling for how I work, and ask any questions you need to. I may take your name and brief contact details, and you can then decide whether to progress to therapy.
Once we have booked our first session together, I will send you my terms and conditions in contract form. If you wish to proceed, I will arrange to take payment for the first session in advance. Payment for the first session, and attending the first session, will deem you to have accepted the terms and conditions of my contract.
